About Dr Jeanri Combrinck

Dr Dr Jeanri Combrinck

Dr Combrinck obtained her medical degree from The University of the Free State in 2013 and completed her internship at Uitenhage Provincial Hospital. She did her community service at the Oudtshoorn Military base, whereafter she was registered as an independent general practitioner for some time and then worked as a medical officer in Psychiatry for over two years at Karl Bremer and Stikland hospitals.

She is a fellow of the College of Medicine of South Africa and has a Master’s degree in Psychiatry from the University of Cape Town (2022), where she obtained experience working in psychiatric services at Groote Schuur, Valkenberg, Lentegeur and Red Cross hospitals.

As a General Psychiatrist she is passionately committed to providing holistic, evidence-based and individual mental health care to adolescents and adults in a therapeutic environment, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach where necessary.

Areas of special interest include anxiety disorders, depressive and bipolar disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia/psychotic disorders, loss and grief.

She believes that the keys to our mental health date back to the “programming” of our paradigms during our developmental years and that restructuring of certain dysfunctional thought patterns can greatly influence the trajectory of our lives and mental well-being. She aims at eventually equipping her patients with skills to overcome certain destructive cycles in their lives, aiming for their full created value to be understood and for them to be able to ultimately live from that place of liberty.
